LEFT: The Santa Catarina Mammoth/Mamut de Santa Catarina (Columbi sp) Skeleton. Adults weighed between 5-8 tons and stood up to 15 feet tall. This species lived on the grasslands of North America and was larger than it's wooly cousins pictured below.
